Amenities
For such a small RV park, this place boasts a plethora of amenities. There are laundry facilities with several machines (that actually work), restrooms, a cafe, and a small playground for the kids. The sites are very simplistic with only a picnic table and small patches of grass. There are no fire rings provided. However, there are communal fire ring with bench seating in the park near the river.
This may be a good or a bad thing…there is no cell service in Klamath. Even if the park tells you there is, there is not. We use Verizon and could not get service anywhere in Klamath inside or outside of the park. The Wi-Fi seemed to work great in the park though. We had no issues streaming.
Access
To get to the park, you travel on a bit of a windy, not-so-well-paved road. There is a very sharp turn on a downhill slope to enter the park. The park is gated but the area is not dangerous.
Atmosphere
The views at this park are absolutely stunning. The tree-lined river flows into the ocean and makes this park well worth the stay. The staff is friendly as were the people who stayed here. Gary, the owner, lives on-site.
We selected a site with a river view and if you can afford it, I highly suggest paying for the upgrade. It makes the stay a bit more special. We stayed in site 57 which had a lovely river view but ended up moving to site 74 (no river view) because a very noisy family with 3 coaches and what felt like 200 children rolled in with no campground etiquette. The owner did handle the situation but one night was enough for us. We moved to site 74 with no river view and enjoyed the peace the park was made for.
Because the park is so close to the river, I would not suggest this park for smaller children unless you want to be on 24/7. It would make me nervous having small children here.
Environment
The sites are very close to each other and there is no privacy at all here. But the beauty that surrounds you makes up for that.

Surrounding Area
If you’re a nature lover, there is so much for you to do in this area. Newton Drive is one of the most beautiful drives you can take, mind you the Redwoods are my happy place. Take the drive and pull out at any of the designated areas and take a hike. They all lead you to an amazing location. At the end of the drive is an elk preservation. If you are lucky, you can see them grazing or taking a nap.
Other things to do in the area are to see Trillium Falls, The Big Tree Hike, Lady Bird Johnson Grove, and the Berry Trail (strenuous). You will need a day pass to go to Fern Valley. It is super popular and very touristy.
Favorite Things
My favorite thing about this RV park was its close proximity to the amazing hikes and elk viewing.
If I could change one thing…
This campground is so stunning I just wish it had a bit more privacy. I would love to take in the view of the river and wildlife feeling more like I was alone instead of sharing the moment with so many other people.
