Amenities

Mammoth Mountain RV Park offers a wide range of amenities designed to provide a comfortable and convenient stay for visitors. The park features full hookup RV sites with water, sewer, and 30/50 amp electrical service, as well as tent camping sites for those seeking a more rustic experience. Guests can enjoy access to clean restrooms, hot showers, and a laundry facility to keep everything fresh during their stay. The park also boasts an indoor heated pool and spa, perfect for relaxing after a day of outdoor activities. For those who need to stay connected, complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the park. Additionally, a well-stocked camp store provides essentials, and the pet-friendly policy ensures that furry friends are welcome too. The proximity to Mammoth Lakes and various outdoor recreational opportunities makes Mammoth Mountain RV Park an ideal base for exploring the natural beauty of the region.

Access

Accessing Mammoth Mountain RV Park via vehicle is straightforward and convenient. The park is located off U.S. Highway 395, which is the main north-south route through the Eastern Sierra region of California. Travelers coming from the south can take U.S. Highway 395 north and exit at State Route 203, which leads directly to the town of Mammoth Lakes. From there, the park is just a short drive away, well-signposted for easy navigation. Those approaching from the north can follow U.S. Highway 395 south and similarly exit at State Route 203. The roads leading to the park are well-maintained and suitable for all types of vehicles, including large RVs and trailers. During winter months, it’s essential to check for road conditions and possible chain requirements due to snow. The convenient location and accessible roads make it easy for visitors to reach Mammoth Mountain RV Park and begin their adventure in the beautiful Eastern Sierra region.

Atmosphere

We have stayed at this park several times over the years but only in the summer. It is always crowded in the summer months. It is warm in the day and cools off at night. The park is covered with Pine trees and the sites are dirt unless you are in the overflow lot. Then you are on the blacktop. We have been placed in both and prefer not to be on the blacktop.

If possible, request to be in the 230’s. these sites are on the back side of the park off the main road and under the mature Pine trees.

The park tends to be peaceful and relaxing.

Environment

Sites at Mammoth Mountain RV are not private and there is no green screen between the sites. There is space between sites so you are not crammed in like sardines like at some campgrounds.

Surrounding Area

What is cool about this campground is the city trolly system. You can hop on a trolly and it will take you all over Mammoth for free. You don’t need to worry about traffic or driving around or you can send those teenagers off on their own and give yourself some peace in the campground.

Mammoth has great restaurants, fun shops, and lots of live music during the summer and winter months. Mammoth does really try to be a year-round town.

If you come or go via the 395 through Bishop, you can drive the June Lake Loop, hit Schats Bakery for some delicious baked goods, and grab lunch or beef jerky at Mahognoy.

Favorite Things

One of the best things about Mammoth Mountain RV Park is its close proximity to everything, making it an ideal base for exploring the area. Visitors appreciate the ease of traveling around thanks to the convenient trolley system, which provides a hassle-free way to reach nearby attractions, shops, and restaurants. Additionally, the park is surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of the Eastern Sierra, offering breathtaking views and numerous outdoor activities. Whether you’re interested in hiking, biking, fishing, or simply soaking in the scenic vistas, Mammoth Mountain RV Park’s prime location and accessibility enhance the overall experience for your vacation.

Mammoth has an incredible trail/biking system. Do a little research before you go. It can take you all over the city and into the beauty that surrounds the campground. It is great for walking, jogging, or biking.

While in Mammoth don’t miss out on the Devil’s Pospile National Monument. It is a pretty cool site to behold.

If I could change one thing…

I always wish I could stay longer. Mammoth Mountian RV is fairly close to me so I use it as an overnight stay on my way to other destinations. I would love to have more time in the area to soak in the beauty and enjoy more hiking in the area.
