Amenities
This park is located off Highway 20 about an hour from the coast. It has a lot of amenities to offer in this great location. Sites are full hook up except for dumping. There is wifi, cable TV, pull-through sites that can hold a 60-foot rig, and propane is sold on-site. There are also amenities for families with small children like a petting zoo with just a few animals, a mini-golf course, and the occasional weekend outdoor movie night. There is a small on-site store with a small food selection and camping essentials. The campground has a dog park. There is a seasonal pool/hot tub. Some sites have personal hot tubs if you are into that. The park also has a catch and release fishing pond that you do not need a license to fish from.

Access
This campground was easy to access. It is conveniently located off Highway 101 and Highway 20. The roads were well maintained (2022) with very little traffic on them even though it was summer. The most difficult part of getting here was driving from the southern part of the state through the bay area. We opted to go over the Richmond Bridge and avoid the traffic and high winds on the Golden gate Bridge. Both bridges are tolls. It cost $7 to pass across the Richmond Bridge. After leaving the Bay Area, the drive is very pretty with some trees and greenery and a few small towns.
Atmosphere
We were in a pull-through site #2 which is located near the pool and across from the children’s splash pad. There was some typical campground noise during the day because of this. The back side of the park was very quiet. Some back-in sites are near Highway 20 and have noise from traffic, however, the road was not terribly busy if you end up in one of those spots. The park felt very family-friendly but also a place for those without children. There are trees all around the park to offer shade but they do not create a green screen from your neighbor. The sites are large enough to offer space from one site to the next so you don’t feel like you are sharing space. Do note the splash pad runs all day and can feel loud. It is a constant noise.
Environment
The park was clean and well-maintained. The sites are dirt/gravel with patches of grass on the sides. From my observation, all the sites were flat and would be easy to level. Most of the end sites (except for back-in) have a swing in them. If you like this idea you may want to request one of those sites. As stated above, the sites do not have a barrier or foliage to separate you from your neighbor. But sites are spacious enough to give you the feel of privacy. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring, and BBQ. It is warm here in the summer so a night fire may be too hot for many people.
Surrounding Area
The campground is not far from the actual town of Willits. In town you have amenities, but understand Willits is not a large city. You can find gas stations, a grocery store, and a few restaurants. There are nearby hiking trails and the skunk train (that might be seasonal).
Favorite Thing
My favorite thing about this park was the variety of things to do. It is a family-friendly park that didn’t feel overran by children. There are plenty of options and activities for children and adults alike. I also loved the location. You can be in the mountains with the redwoods and hiking and be at the coast in about an hour (Fort Bragg).
If I could change one thing…
I really loved this campground. It was clean and spacious for a California park. If I had to change one thing, I would change my site. Being so close the the splash pad was a little noisy and change the ambiance of the park for me.
