The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is located in Simi Valley, CA. The library sits atop a mountain with sweeping views of the valley, surrounding mountains, and if you are lucky the Pacific Ocean. It is an amazing destination full of information and interactive activities.
The library sits on 100 acres. It is about 45 minutes from downtown Los Angels. It is also the final resting place of President Reagan and First Lady Nancy Regan.
Although this post is not a campsite review, it does review a very fun and unique destination you can visit during one of your camping adventures in California. If you are in your RV, you can check out these campgrounds that are near the Ronald Regan Library.

The museum takes you through the life and presidency of Ronald Reagan. You can learn about his youth, college days, his road to the presidency, and his legacy as the 40th president of the US. I found the information both engaging and incredibly interesting. I learned a lot about the President that I never knew before.
One of the coolest exhibits was Air Force One. Yes, you can actually walk through Air Force One and Marine One.
Another cool interactive exhibit was the room where you can give a speech on the podium and read a teleprompter while doing it!
The museum takes you on a tour of the Oval Office. It is decorated as it was when President Reagan was in the White House. It even includes a jar of Jelly Belly’s (if you didn’t know, President Reagan loved them).
The museum has a cafe, a bar, a gift shop, and various exhibit rooms. There was a WW II exhibit happening while we visited. You can learn about the Secret Service, read President Reagan’s Diary, and remember what it was like the day he was shot.
The museum was educational but it was also fun. If you are into history and want to learn more about the Presidents of the United States, you can visit all 13 Presidential Libraries in the US. The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is one of 13 Presidential Libraries in the US. If you are in Simi Valley, you can dive a little over an hour to Richard Nixon’s Library located in Yorba Linda. That one should be fascinating. I have yet to go.
