If you are like us and still have to work and can’t RV full time, I want to share these quick cooking hacks that will allow you more time to enjoy your weekend stay. The bummer of having a job is you are tied to quick weekend trips close to home for most of your travels. You arrive at the campsite late on Friday night and then have to pack up and leave Sunday morning. That does not give you a lot of time to enjoy your stay. What you don’t want to do is spend your time preparing meals upon arrival and during your stay. You also don’t want to be worrying about all the things in life you have to do when you get back on Sunday to deal with real life.

Friday Night Arrival
For your Friday night arrival hack have food delivered. For most of us, arriving at the campsite on Friday will be later in the evening. What you don’t want to do is wonder what you are going to prepare for dinner while setting up camp. Here are some options for you.
- Order Pizza: It doesn’t matter if you are single or have a family, pizza is the answer to your Friday night arrival. Did you even know they deliver pizza to campsites? I just learned this so I am stoked to find this out. When you check-in, ask the front desk who delivers to the campsite, get on the phone, and order. By the time you set up camp, dinner will be there.
- Being an already prepared meal: If you are wanting to save some money and perhaps eat a bit healthier, bring a prepared meal from home. You can easily start something in the slow cooker in the morning before you leave for work then transport it to the campsite. We place the slow cooker in the sink during our travels.
- Pack leftovers: If you have some leftovers and a premade bag of salad, you can make a quick and easy meal that will allow you more time to enjoy your campsite.
Sunday Departure
I don’t know about you but Sunday I wake up already thinking about my to-do list and what I need to get done for the week. Usually, the top of my list consists of grocery shopping. To get a little more enjoyment out of my last morning at the campground, I use a shopping app like Instacart or have my groceries ready for pick up at my local grocery store by ordering through their app. Depending on where you live, these services are readily available. You can even plan ahead and schedule an Amazon grocery delivery for the evening you arrive home. This saves you some time and allows you to get more enjoyment out of the weekend. You can even enjoy another french press cup of coffee.
Quick Trips
Quick weekend trips are great. They bring us much-needed relaxation. But if you have to arrive and leave in a hurry, these hacks will allow you more time for your weekend. Yes, they may cost you a little bit more, but in the end, the cost really pays off.
